AWEX (Wallonia Export and Investment) is a government agency responsible for stimulating economic activity in the Wallonia region. AWEX has a worldwidenetwork of 105 Economic and Trade Commissioners and has been ISO 9001 certified since 2002 (www.awex.be).

As a foreign trade agency, AWEX carries out a mission of promotion and information, benefiting both Wallonia and the foreign business community. Upon request, AWEX assists buyers, decision-makers, importers and foreign prospects by:

As a foreign investment agency, AWEX, through its Office for Foreign Investors (OFI), is also responsible for attracting foreign investment to Wallonia. This includes seeking out and providing information to potential foreign investors. The Agency also offers a proactive follow-up service to investors already established in Wallonia. In addition, it is in charge of identifying new foreign investors for the acquisition of industrial that may currently be in a restructuring process.

During the last 30 years, we have developed manual ELISA and RIA immunoassays for the diagnosis and monitoring of a wide variety of endocrine disorders. We constantly reworked and developed specific antibodies for use in our diagnostic assays and we offer these antibodies also to other diagnostic companies. Constantly looking for new technologies and applications, we put our expertise in the development of new antibodies (patent pending) and assays to measure 25 OH Total Vitamin D (D2+D3). We are strengthening our position in the diagnostic market by validating our ELISA assays on open automates (Stratec ‘Gemini’ and Gold Standard Diagnostics ‘Thunderbolt’). This innovation marks a turning point for our company, and makes of DIAsource, already renowned in the RIA market, a complete diagnostic provider.

The interest in Vitamin D is rising rapidly. Since more than 10 years DIAsource manufactures immunoassays for 25 OH Vitamin D3 and 1,25 (OH)2 Vitamin D. In our assay development program we are focusing specifically on new Vitamin D assays. A new version of our 25 OH Vitamin D3 (RIA) and a completely new 25 OH Total Vitamin D (D2+D3) will be available in a RIA and ELISA format by the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. The ELISA version will also be made available in an automated version.
